LANESVILLE INTERCHANGE STUDY
Commissioned on June 12, 2001 this study was undertaken to provide the citizens of Harrison County an opportunity to establish a vision for the future development of property in and around the Lanesville Interchange and identify the actions necessary to insure that such development will occur in an orderly, well designed manner with minimal expense to the tax payer. The final product of this Study will provide a detailed description of existing conditions, a summary of the desires of the community for the area (vision), a preferred pattern of development, and recommendations for infrastructure improvements that will be necessary to adequately serve the amount of growth that is considered appropriate. This study and the resulting land use plan will serve to guide all future land use decisions made by the Plan Commission and County Commissioners and will provide the supporting documentation necessary to defend denial of land use changes which are inconsistent with the communities vision.
Currently the final draft of the plan has been adopted and copies are available for viewing or purchase in the Plan Commission office. Also a copy is available in the local public library.
